IU Reaches 10 Million YouTube Milestone, Promises ‘More Entertaining Content’
Multi-talented Korean superstar IU has reached a significant digital milestone, surpassing 10 million subscribers on her official YouTube channel.
According to industry sources on April 7, IU celebrated the achievement by sharing photos and video content capturing the exact moment her channel reached the eight-digit subscriber count on her social media accounts.
“I’ve become a YouTuber with a ‘Diamond Button,'” IU remarked, referring to YouTube’s prestigious award for channels exceeding 10 million subscribers. “I’ll strive to be a 10-million-subscriber YouTuber who creates more entertaining content. Thank you once again to all 10,000,013 subscribers who have supported me.”
The achievement comes 8 years and 2 months after IU launched her official YouTube channel in February 2017. Her channel features a variety of content including music videos, behind-the-scenes footage, cover performances, and personal vlogs that offer glimpses into her life and creative process.
IU, whose real name is Lee Ji-eun, has maintained her position as one of South Korea’s most beloved entertainers for over 15 years. Her dual success in both music and acting has cemented her status as a cultural icon.
Most recently, she received critical acclaim for her role as Oh Ae-soon in Netflix’s hit drama “When Life Gives You Tangerines” (known in Korea as “폭싹 속았수다” or “Poksak Sogassuda”), further expanding her international recognition.
The Diamond Play Button achievement places IU among an elite group of Korean entertainers to reach this milestone, reflecting her enduring popularity and global appeal.
