A shocking incident has occurred in Los Angeles where a man was brutally attacked by a group of teenage cyclists, raising alarm about increasingly violent and bold juvenile crimes. The aftermath of California Democratic administration’s flawed judicial policy of responding to crime with leniency rather than punishment has now expanded to minors, who are committing crimes without guilt as if they were playing.
Details of the Incident
- Date: February 22nd, around 5 PM
- Location: Near Beverly Hills in the Carthay area, close to San Vicente Boulevard and McCarthy Vista
- Victim: Morris Benaim (28)
Benaim witnessed 20-30 teenagers on bicycles performing stunts and disrupting traffic while driving. When he honked his horn, one of the group kicked his vehicle, damaging the tail light. As Benaim exited his vehicle, the group assault began.
The Attack
According to a witness’s cell phone footage, the teenagers knocked Benaim to the ground and beat him mercilessly. One suspect climbed onto the vehicle and damaged the windshield.
“I tried to stay conscious,” Benaim recalled. “I was clearly outnumbered and tried to protect my face and minimize head trauma.”
Investigation Status
Police have classified this incident as a “group assault.” Currently, two juvenile suspects have been arrested, but the remaining suspects, estimated to be between 16-18 years old, are still at large.
Victim’s Condition and Family Response
Benaim suffered lacerations, bruises, head trauma, severe pain, possible rib fractures, and psychological trauma. His mother, Yasmil Benaim, expressed concern, stating, “We are becoming desensitized to this kind of violence.”
