Korean-American singer Kevin Woo released a new single, “Phoenix,” to aid in Los Angeles wildfire recovery efforts.
Woo, currently based in Los Angeles, announced on February 14 that all proceeds from the merchandise sales will be donated to wildfire relief efforts. “Phoenix” is an R&B track with a message of recovery and healing, he said.
The merchandise line, which launched on February 14, includes tote bags, phone cases, and snapback hats. All proceeds will support recovery efforts in wildfire-affected areas, including Altadena and Pacific Palisades.
A California native, Woo was discovered by a Korean talent agency at age 15 and debuted as the main vocalist of K-pop group U-KISS in 2008. Over the next decade, he participated in world tours and musicals and hosted Arirang’s talk show “After School Club” as a main MC for four years, making him one of the longest-serving hosts.
Since launching his solo career in 2017, he starred in the Broadway musical “KPOP” and is set to appear in Anderson .Paak’s upcoming film “KPOPS.”
