In response to the increasing damage caused by teenagers riding electric bicycles, a city in Orange County is pushing forward with a plan to hold the parents of bicycle owners responsible for damages caused by electric bike.

In San Clemente, Orange County, as streets have become dangerous due to electric bike and citizen complaints have increased, the city has begun to pursue a plan to hold the parents of bicycle owners responsible for material damages or crimes caused by electric bike

At a city council meeting last Tuesday, the Mayor of San Clemente stated that emails complaining about electric bike from residents have been pouring in, making it crucial to enforce regulations on electric bikes.

Recently, vandalism caused by groups of electric bike riders was reported in Great Park in Irvine, making the electric bike issue a headache for local communities. As a result, city governments are struggling to come up with countermeasures.

The Mayor of San Clemente says that residents are very anxious as electric bike speed through the streets, disregarding traffic signs.

This ordinance is expected to be submitted to the San Clemente City Council soon.
